Transport Connectivity for Regional and European Integration and growth: financing and investment risks – opportunities in a fast changing road transport reality.
EU decarbonize future will be based on harmonized regional green developments. The speakers will reflect on realistic transport scenarios. In these scenarios the role of motorways and efficient concession schemes to socio-economic growth will be analyzed. Such analyses will take into account the financing and investment risks and opportunities in a socially oriented reality.

EETS – Eurovignette: EU Infrastructure financing tools

The user pays and polluter pays principles will be part of the future EU policy. To meet these objectives a proper, harmonized tolling/charging scheme is needed in EU. To this end EU institutions, states and stakeholders both EC proposals regarding EETS and Eurovignette. When finally adopted, they will be part of a realistic tolling policy in EU where the Toll Chargers and the Service providers will provide realistic tolling services to citizens/users in the various EU regions under realistic commercial conditions. In the discussion will appear that Tolling is the fairest and the most sustainable way to develop new roads and to manage and maintain existing ones. Thus, public funds would be saved to be used towards other social priorities.

Multimodality and MaaS: What is the role of road concessionaires?

2018 has been proclaimed the official Year of Multimodal Transport by European Commissionner for Transport Violeta Bulc. Multimodality means focusing on different means of transport, from road to maritime, and to aviation. Mobility as a service (Maas) is expecting to change the way the travelers move around with access to personalized, smart mobility services. The session will focus on the challenges and the role of the concessionnaires towards the Multimodality and MaaS applications.

European actions and plans towards Road Safety - EC priorities presented in the 3rd mobility package

The challenges for road operators are to improve road safety and performances. From a long-term point of view, safe roads do not only depend on highly developed infrastructure. They also depend on the drivers behind the wheels and on innovations. The session will be the occasion to hear about the EC priorities to improve road safety presented in the third mobility package which also reflect the Valetta declaration. The session will explore and identify policies, practices, issues, challenges, and innovative actions from ASECAP members and other stakeholders to share their concerns, successes and experiences to contribute to EU objectives

Anticipating new mobility trends for an innovative-safe-green traffic management

New mobility trends for a safe transportation, the new mobility evolutions in ASECA, car sharing, carpooling, dedicated bus lanes, managed lanes, serving electric and hybrid cars, managing innovative, conventional vehicles in mixed traffic flows will be playing a major part for the decarbonization of transportation. ASECAP members will share their experiences in implementing and deploying solutions they apply in their network to fulfil the new mobility evolution and solutions.
