Sustainable Financing to answer Inclusive Transportation & Green Logistics
Moderator: Didem Eryar, Journalist
(Political panel with high level personalities)
The session will focus on expected development and challenges of future mobility and transport of all citizens and goods. Sustainability has become the major focus of infrastructure, transportation, and financing. The demographic growth, economic globalization and other social trends mean we need to modernize our infrastructure in compliance with EU objectives to make them greener, to enhance people’s quality of life, to provide equal access to all citizen whether they are living in remote territories or in urban area. Transport infrastructure is changing in depth and there is an urgent need to reflect on what urgent actions need to be done for the next decade. The main priority is to reach the policy goals of developing transport solution with zero emission. This is a major concern for all the stakeholders to have a sustainable approach that engages/involves public and private partnerships: How can infrastructure be adapted to climate change compliance? What measures could increase the resilience of road mobility in times of crises and high inflation? The changes are so important that these simple questions are critical for private investors. The session will explore how to find self-sustainable financing schemes to build, deploy maintain mobility infrastructure and what conditions are needed to attract investors to implement sustainable financing schemes.

Hot topic discussion - Plenary session
Net zero E-cars, green autonomous vehicles deployment: the way forward to reach climate change challenges / A good approach to tackle net zero objectives
Moderator: Didem Eryar, Journalist
As we started to experience the negative effects of Global Warming, states and supra-state institutions stepped up their steps towards the net zero carbon target. The goals set forth, such as the introduction of a carbon tax with the Green Deal Agreement, the announcement that vehicles with internal combustion engines will be banned in the UK and Japan by 2030 in Europe in 2035, carbon reduction targets announced by the European Union, show that a carbon-free future will come true soon.
Decarbonization targets in transportation, which is the second area with the highest carbon emissions, can be achieved with alternative fuel vehicles. In this session, the importance of electric vehicles for the net zero carbon target, the advantages of autonomous vehicles for the Decarbonization target and how the transportation infrastructure should be prepared for alternative fuel and autonomous vehicles will be discussed with the main stakeholders involved.
