In 1989 he began his career as Foreman for Verdenova SpA, Rome, monitoring road vegetation maintenance works along the A14 Bologna-Bari-Taranto highway.
In 1990 first as Site Manager, then as Technical Director and finally as Managing Director of Stil Verde Srl, Ravenna, he managed works and logistics of construction sites from the company, such as the A4 Brescia-Padova (green maintenance), the Messina-Palermo highway (landscape management), and the Milan-Genoa highway (installation of noise barriers).
In June 1996 Valerio Molinari founded "Ecogest Engineering Srl" in Ravenna, operating in the field of environmental restoration and maintenance of roadside vegetation along transportation infrastructure.
In 2016 Ecogest was turned into a joint stock company, positioning itself as a leader in the sector and working for major Italian highway concessionaires and the state network.
Over the years the company has established its position and then its leadership in the Italian market, working for the main Italian freeway concessionaires, as well as for the railway groups in charge of building the Rome-Naples, Turin-Milan and Milan-Genoa high-speed lines, and for the state network through ANAS.
In July 2018, Ecogest joined AISCAT (Italian Association of Motorway and Toll Tunnel Concessionary Companies) and IRF (International Road Federation) in 2019.
In September 2021, Valerio Molinari became a member of the Board of Directors of AISCAT.
Today Ecogest SpA operates in 9 Italian regions and is present in 3 foreign countries (Romania, France and recently Canada) with previous field experience also in Turkey and Poland.
Ecogest SpA is a key operator of the GAVIO Group, Italy's leading private operator of highway and transportation infrastructure, and the second in the world. The company's main clients include Autostrada del Brennero, Autostrada Milano Serravalle, Autovie Venete, Autovia Padana, Autostrada del Mediterraneo, Autostrada dei Parchi, and the entire Gavio network managed through ASTM SpA and SIAS SpA.
In 2020 Valerio Molinari founded the Center for Climate Change Studies, through the family holding company "Greenway Group," which monitors the consequences of climate change, with particular attention to the refluence on maintenance and the state of conservation of highway infrastructure.
Since 08/03/2023 founding partner and member of the Board of Directors of "Fondazione MAC - Audiovisual Memories of Catholicism" born from an initiative of Monsignor Dario Edoardo Viganò, at the express wish of His Holiness Pope Francis I.
Since 06/28/2023 member of the Board of Directors of IRF - International Road Federation.
